Varicose veins are swollen and enlarged veins that often occur on the legs and feet. They may be blue or dark purple and are often lumpy, bulging, or twisted in appearance.
They can cause many uncomfortable symptoms including aching, heavy, uncomfortable legs, or a burning and throbbing in the legs. Varicose veins also can look unsightly and stop you from enjoying the activities or wearing the clothes you would like to.
Elanic offer a day case Varicose Vein treatment where you will be treated and be able to go home the same day after a simple procedure. We offer Sclerotherapy which is a minimally invasive method to treat varicose veins.
Sclerotherapy can be administered in two different ways; liquid which is injected into the affected vein (usually used to treat smaller veins). Or there is ultra-sound sclerotherapy which involves a foam being administered to the affected area guided by ultra-sound for precision.
These treatments are usually performed under a local anaesthetic and do not require you to take any time off from your work or normal daily activities.
