A Blepharoplasty which you may also know as an eyelid reduction is an operation to reshape the eyelids. An upper-eyelid reduction can improve your vision and make you look younger. A lower-eyelid reduction can help to reduce wrinkles and puffiness. Some patients choose to just have excess skin removed from their upper eyelids, or eye bag removal from the lower or some patients choose to have both areas operated on.
As part of the normal ageing process and as environmental factors impact our complexions muscles lose their tightness and skin begins to sag, this can result in excess folds of skin over the eye or and increased puffiness and or wrinkles underneath the eye. During Blepharoplasty the surgeon will make a cut in the natural crease of your eye and remove the excess skin suturing the wound with very fine stitches. This procedure can be done under local anesthetic and would be performed as a day case in our Edinburgh Clinic reducing the amount of recovery time and overall intrusion in your daily life.
We have operated on hundreds of satisfied Blepharoplasty patients in Elanic who have completed rejuvenated their appearance and injected a youthful spring into their step!
