What is a Gastric Sleeve?

Elanic is one of the few independent cosmetic surgery groups to offer a gastric sleeve procedure; performed by our specialist bariatric consultant surgeon Chris Shearer.

A gastric sleeve is a surgical procedure which greatly reduces the capacity of the stomach, by around 75% and this results in long-term weight loss and vastly improved the health of our patients.   A sleeve gastrectomy also removes the part of your stomach that produces the hunger-stimulating hormone ghrelin. This means that your appetite is reduced.  The gastric sleeve procedure is carried out at our partner hospital and involves an overnight stay where you will be followed up by your surgeon and Elanic’s professional bariatric aftercare team.
